Dhavan Shah elected ICA Fellow

Professor Dhavan Shah has been named a Fellow of the International Communication Association. The award goes to scholars who have made distinguished contributions to the broad field of communication and media studies. There are only 109 ICA Fellows worldwide. “This is quite a rare achievement,” said SJMC director Hemant Shah. “Dhavan’s research contributions in political communication, health communication and computational methods are simply unparalleled.” Shah will be recognized for the honor at the annual meeting of ICA, June 9-13 in Fukuoka, Japan. He will join former SJMC faculty members Jack McLeod and Steve Chaffee as ICA Fellows. The International Communication Association has 4,500 members from 80 countries and was founded in 1950.
