The Office of State Sen. Melissa Agard (D-Madison) is now accepting applications for our Spring 2022 internship. Interns will begin mid-January.
Senator Agard’s internship program provides valuable civic experience and unparalleled insight into the inner workings of state government. Senator Agard’s internships are for the duration of one semester with the potential to extend upon completion. Interns in Senator Agard’s office will receive hands-on training and experience with the Wisconsin State Legislature, leaving our office with practical knowledge and skills in policy and legal research, communications and media, casework, and constituent services.
Our internship program is a synthesis of everything we do in our office. General interns do everything from conducting policy research and analysis, to providing constituent services, to event planning and attendance.
Senator Melissa Agard is a proud, progressive Democrat representing the 16th Senate District. Policy issues that she has continued to lead on in the state legislature include:
– Fully legalizing marijuana for medicinal & recreational use
– $15 minimum wage & restoring workers’ rights
– CLEAR Act & other environmental policy
– Menstrual equality & removing “Tampon Tax”
– Many, many more progressive policies!
College undergraduates of any major or background are welcome. Women, persons of color, and LGBTQ+-identified people are especially encouraged to apply.
