Description
The Office of State Representative Katrina Shankland (D-Stevens Point) is seeking candidates for a communications internship in her Madison office. The ideal candidate will work well on teams, have strong writing and interpersonal communication skills, and be willing to learn about the nuances of state government. Communications interns will be tasked with the following responsibilities:
– Drafting press releases, media advisories, constituent correspondence, op-eds, and more
– Assisting with the drafting of speeches, talking points, and social media content
– Working with local and statewide media outlets to further the Representative’s legislative priorities by securing earned media
– Answering phones, participating in constituent meetings, and helping with general office administration
– Other duties as assigned
