Description
Olmsted County has an opportunity for a paid Communications intern for summer 2023!
Duration – approximately 12 weeks Rate of Pay- $15.00
Hours- 20-25 hours per week
The position will offer opportunities to work on communications projects and learn valuable workplace skills. Projects may include writing and/or editing news tips, creating and scheduling social media posts, assisting with communication delivery system updates, and creation of a comprehensive capstone communication plan for a project.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Third or Fourth year college student pursuing a degree in communication, public relations, or journalism
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment
Preferred Skills:
- Writing (e.g., articles, press releases, media advisories, talking points, scripting). Ideally, the candidate would submit a few writing samples as part of their application.
- Comfortable speaking in groups.
- Ability to work independently and in groups.
- Strong time management.
- Social media experience.
- Website experience.
- Graphic design experience.
- Video/photography experience.
