Description
BRAVA Magazine hosts editorial internships year-round for enthusiastic, driven and creative college students and recent graduates. Our interns thrive as part of our small, close-knit team of women, learning many aspects of the magazine business from the inside out.
Along with that valuable experience, they come away with an impressive portfolio of their published work, both in print and online. Our interns have gone on to writing or marketing positions at other publications, businesses or organizations. Several of our interns have gone on to freelance write for BRAVA after their internship.
Internships typically run for the duration of a single school term, but on occasion, some of our interns have extended their stay to multiple semesters.
This internship is unpaid.

EDITORIAL INTERNSHIP
HOURS: 10-15 hours/week
DURATION: We host interns year-round — usually a school term or over summer break.
REQUIREMENTS: Applicants should have a willingness to learn and the ability to write excellent, short-form articles in a news and feature style. Coursework in journalism, communications, marketing, or English are required. Some knowledge of copy-editing and AP style is helpful. Interns will need a laptop. Having transportation and the ability to travel to our Verona office and assignment locations is helpful, but not required at this time.
This internship is currently remote, with one in-person meeting for training/orientation, and opportunities to meet up in person throughout the internship duration as needed.
DUTIES: Editorial interns get hands-on experience in interviewing, writing for the website and print magazine, fact-checking, story research and copyediting. Interns are also often invited to photo shoots and editorial meetings, so they can get a robust understanding of how magazine newsrooms operate.
