Description

The Cascade PBS’s mission is to inform and inspire our community to make the world a better place.

Our vision is to be the most essential and relevant media organization in the region. The fellowship is a twelve-month program designed to jumpstart the career of an early career professional at a time when local journalism is both increasingly vital and threatened. The fellow will also help create journalism that is representative of the communities we serve, while demonstrating PBS AND CPM’s values of integrity, community, innovation and diversity.

The emerging journalist fellow will be placed with our audience engagement team, focusing on supporting and promoting vital reporting with impacted communities in an ever-changing digital landscape, whether through newsletters, social media, community outreach or other avenues. Though this role will not focus primarily on reporting, the fellow will also work with journalists throughout the editorial team, developing skills in written, audio and video storytelling. Through this work, the fellow will gain a better understanding of the collaborative process required to produce compelling and impactful journalism across various media, while demonstrating Cascade PBS’s values of integrity, community, innovation, and diversity.

The fellow will have a start date of January 6th, 2025, and will finish on December 19th, 2025. (tentatively)
