Madison365 and the Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center are currently recruiting reporting interns for the summer of 2023 to cover health, wellness, health equity and aging. Applicants must be University of Wisconsin students at the time of application; seniors slated to graduate in May 2023 ARE eligible. Health reporting experience is not necessary. The paid internship is a 10-week, full-time job, and will require some flexibility in terms of your schedule. You will have regular office hours and meetings, but will also spend some time out in the community interviewing sources and covering events, some of which might take place on evenings and weekends. You will gain valuable real-world journalism experience.

The internship will involve attendance at daily editorial staff meetings (usually virtually), developing source relationships, pitching story ideas and covering three to five stories per week as assigned by editors. The intern will also have opportunities to appear on Madison365 podcasts and video shows. The intern will be paid $15 per hour for 40 hours per week.
