Newsroom internship available:
Summer session (40 hours per week).
Internship is paid.
Position is not remote.
Intern duties: regular reporting assignments for print and online products; many opportunities to interview area business executives, company owners, public officials, etc.; miscellaneous assignments involve covering events for web stories, including photography; also participate in company activities and networking events; we offer a full newsroom experience, involving our interns in all news operations, meetings and events just like our regular team of reporters.
For consideration:
- Must have at least junior year standing
- Maintain an above-average overall grade point score
- Significant oral and written communication skills, and sound reporting judgment
- Have experience at a university newspaper, magazine or other publication/website, or experience writing for a hometown publication
