Description
The Office of Governor Tony Evers is looking for energetic, responsible, and passionate individuals to join the Madison office as interns for the upcoming semester. Interns are an integral part of the Governor’s team, providing support in either the constituent services or appointments departments. It is essential that applicants have strong communication skills, demonstrate maturity and responsibility, and understand the importance of attention to detail, but prior political experience is not required.
The office also offers opportunities for 2L and 3L law students seeking experience in the Governor’s Office of Legal Counsel. While applications for students interested in law clerk positions for Summer 2023 are no longer being accepted, please check back later for information on applying for the Fall 2023 semester.
Intern Duties and Responsibilities (Constituent Services):
- Take live calls, log voicemails, and call constituents back, entering each phone call into the office database
- Monitor incoming email correspondence, processing each email in the office database
- Perform clerical duties, such as data entry and organizational tasks, as needed
- Participate in professional development events and activities

- Review application materials for applicants to gubernatorial boards and commissions
- Draft professional bios for applicants
- Perform clerical duties, such as data entry and organizational tasks, as needed

Intern Requirements and Qualifications:
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential material in a responsible and respectful manner
- Availability to work in-person at the State Capitol in Madison
