A little bit about our team:

The WMX Global Commercial Services team maximizes WMG revenue and market share, leading through best practices, platform expertise and forward-thinking solutions that support our recorded music strategy. Within Global Commercial Services is our Retail & Platform Marketing team: a small team dedicated to building innovative and engaging marketing campaigns for WMG’s physical (vinyl, CD) album releases as well as large and intimate artist events and fan experiences.

Your role:

We are currently looking for a driven, reliable and creative Retail & Platform Marketing Specialist. This individual will collaborate with the RPM Senior Manager to support marketing, sales and DEI efforts across retail and platform landscapes. With a focus on breaking emerging acts and amplifying established artists, this individual will curate unique, online and offline experiences for music fans of all generations.

Here you’ll get to:

  • You will support the RPM team in strategy, development and execution of grassroots and digital marketing campaigns with our retail account base (primarily independent record stores), influencers, lifestyle partners, and O&O digital brands.
  • You will be responsible for overseeing Western US retail and non-traditional artist events (e.g., in-stores, meet and greets, signings, local retail appearances) including all online and in store marketing.
  • You will curate and plan social media content for Record Store Crawl, our WMG-owned vinyl lifestyle page.
  • You will own the Record Store Crawl event lifecycle in your territory (Western US), hosting annual events in those cities.
  • You will oversee playlisting initiatives and brand growth on streaming platforms.
  • You will establish and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders across labels, big box and indie accounts, partner brands, and various internal departments.
  • You will assist in identifying, planning and distributing P.O.P. programs including both physical tools and digital assets to maximize visibility and sales.
  • You will prepare reports and participate in sales and marketing meetings as necessary.

  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • You have excellent social media knowledge as well as a graphic design/photo/video background.
  • You work well independently and with a team.
  • You have excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills; Relationship Builder – develops relationships across territories, labels and staff to accomplish business goals.
  • You are a creative thinker, goal oriented and a team player

We’d love it if you also had:

  • 1-2 years of label and/or music sales and marketing experience
  • Passion for music / vinyl / physical music
  • A college degree, preferably in communication, marketing, or music industry
  • An understanding of current music business challenges
