Slow Food UW is accepting applications for their spring 2021 internships. There are 16 positions to fill and applications are due January 14th (but will be accepted on a rolling basis afterwards).
Communications Intern: Our communications intern position is focused on external and internal communications within the Slow Food UW community. The duties of this position range from sending out our weekly newsletters, to designing posters, to taking photos in addition to posting on our different social media avenues in order to promote our endeavors. Applicants with a passion for getting the word out about local food systems and food justice are encouraged. The ideal candidate must carry an enthusiasm for communicating via digital mediums, participating in many SFUW events, and have experience with design.
Marketing and Donor Relations Intern: The Marketing and Donor Relations Intern is responsible for external outreach and communications for the annual Slow Food Gala. Gala is typically a formal ticketed event held at a local Madison restaurant that consists of a 5 course dinner featuring local/seasonal food and wine pairings, silent auction items, and an opportunity to hear about the happenings of Slow Food UW. The event benefits Slow Food’s food justice volunteer projects in the South Madison branch. Gala will clearly need to be reimagined to work on a distanced or entirely virtual scale this year so we are looking for visionary leaders to help us make this transition happen. This position is two-fold: creating and distributing marketing material to generate ticket sales and petitioning local businesses and organizations for sponsorships, silent-auction donations, or partnerships. Applicants with experience in marketing, donor relations, fundraising, and non- or for-profit outreach are encouraged to apply.
