Description
WGN-TV is searching for a creative, informed and innovative producer to join our team.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Produce strong, fast-paced, hour-long newscasts with particular attention to breaking news
- Work closely with other producers, field crews and the assignment desk to maximize daily resources and appropriately reflect the news of the day
- Write captivating teases and review writers’ scripts
- Create and order graphics for newscasts
- Time out the show in the control room
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Requirements/Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, or a related field
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Desktop editing skills preferred
- Minimum three years’ experience in news operations
- Leadership ability, positive attitude and creativity a must
