Professor Sue Robinson was a top-five selection in AEJMC’s Presidential Call for Papers on Revitalizing the Bonds of Journalism, Citizenship, and Democracy. The ranking of the five papers will be announced at the annual meeting of the Association for Education and Journalism and Mass Communication in August in Minneapolis. AEJMC will hold a reception to honor the winners followed by a dinner with the president and president-elect of the organization. The papers all dealt with ways that journalism can address the problems of democracy by fostering civic engagement to address community concerns. All the selected papers will be published in a special issue of Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly.
