The Madison Museum of Contemporary Art is accepting applications for a part-time events and volunteer program assistant.

Accountability:
Volunteer Program
Responsible for coordinating MMoCA’s volunteer recruitment, outreach, appreciation, retention, scheduling, training, logistics, and tracking. Updates and maintains the iVolunteer online tool and related guides for staff. Writes Volunteer Notes monthly newsletters. Manages volunteer applications and data entry. Facilitates and attends MMoCA Volunteers Board meetings, events, and liaises with the MMoCA Volunteers Board. Coordinates annual rooftop celebration. Develops individual and group volunteering initiatives. Ensures that MMoCA’s volunteering opportunities have a high level of awareness and are positively regarded in the community.
Event Entertainment
Responsible for entertainer/talent recruitment, scheduling, contracting, application processes, and related volunteer management for MMoCA’s events. Develops and maintains entertainment database. Nurtures MMoCA’s connection with musicians (especially local bands), dance companies, and theater groups.
Administrative/ Events Assistant
Provides administrative and clerical support to the Director of Events & Volunteers. Assists with all aspects of events, such as the Art Fair on the Square, MMoCA Art & Gift Fair, Chroma, Hair Affair, MMoCA Openings, and Art Velo. Aids with communication with event participants, developing partnerships, and event logistics. Assists with special projects, such as auctions and raffles as requested by the Director of Events & Volunteers.
Development
Aids with securing in-kind contributions and other resources by reaching out to individuals and businesses for donations, volunteer incentives, event participant hospitality, staff appreciation, and more.
Social Media Marketing
Responsible for devising social media plans for fundraising events, as well as content development and posting.

Compensation: $16.00/hour (non-negotiable), with select benefits.

Schedule: 25 hours per week 46 weeks/year + 40 hours per week 6 weeks/year. Event hours are additional and required. Must be present for set up and all hours of Art Fair on the Square, MMoCA Art & Gift Fair, Art Velo, Chroma, Hair Affair, MMoCA Openings (7 per year), Gallery Night (2 per year), MMoCA Volunteers Board meetings (10 per year), and other/volunteer events and meetings. This role is not expected to grow into a full-time position.

Requirements: Bachelor’s or Associates Degree is required. Excellent communication and coordination skills. Experience working with volunteers, events, entertainers, art/artists, social media, and/or customer service.
