WISC-TV/Channel3000.com, Southern Wisconsin’s number one station and digital source for news, is looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working candidate to join our team as a PAID full-time intern from January-June. We’re looking for someone who sees the future of news, wants hands-on experience in TV and digital news gathering and production and is committed to working hard on a daily basis in an active newsroom. Sound like you? Here’s what you’d get a chance to do in our award-winning newsroom:
–Get real world experience by pitching stories in daily editorial meetings, following them through with story setup
–Work as a multi-media journalist by learning to shoot, write and edit news stories for television and digital platforms
–Assist our fast-moving team on social and digital and learn how to engage with an audience
–Learn from seasoned professionals how to build sources, write and present meaningful stories, and break news
–Join our team for 40 hours a week for 6 months, working both weekdays and weekends—offering a one-of-a-kind experience that will leave you prepared to work in a newsroom upon completion of the internship
The ideal candidate may eventually produce content that would be used on-air and on digital platforms that could be included in a resume reel.
Here are a few job requirements:
–An open mind and a passion for great journalism
–Ability to swing tight deadlines
–A valid driver’s license and good driving record
Are you excited? So are we.
