GCBH AmeriCorps VISTA Program is currently hiring for full-time, one-year positions beginning July 20, 2020.

The GCBH VISTA Program is designed to increase access to behavioral health services for Greenville County’s low-income residents in measurable and sustainable ways. All positions are located in Greenville County, South Carolina.

GCBH VISTA is a fantastic opportunity for emerging professionals to gain the experience and skills needed to launch or revitalize their careers while applying their college degree. Each GCBH VISTA position increases the capacity of the non-profit or government host site. Each position is critically important in expanding access to services related to mental health and/or opioid use disorder, and it focuses on one or more of the following activities:
• Social Media/Marketing Management
• Fund Development/Grant Writing
• Modifying/Documenting Programs to Increase Access to Care
• Data Analysis/Research
• Outreach/Partnership Building
• Improving Volunteer Recruitment or Management Systems
• Program or Community Assessment

Although GCBH VISTAs do not earn a traditional salary and instead receive a modest living stipend that places them at the poverty line, they are eligible for several benefits. .If an applicant is relocating more than 50 miles from their home address, they will qualify for relocation benefits. Please note that the individual selected for this role-and each of the GCBH VISTA positions available this year- will qualify for a modest federal living stipend, an Eli Segal education loan to be used for graduate studies, or to pay back student loans, a housing stipend, and other benefits. Most VISTAs are eligible for SNAP benefits (formerly called food stamps) and are eligible to receive an educational award at the completion of their service.
