Partners with our PR/Marketing student to create layout/design of multiple projects throughout the season. PR writes copy and brainstorms with Graphic Arts how to reflect the copy with a layout/design that is aimed at the targeted audience(s). Projects include show playbill, posters, advertisements, donor mailings, newsletters, website and social media. GA must have working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator and/or InDesign. Able to prepare projects for print and web. Weekly meetings with PR and Exec. Producer plus 4-5 hours of work from own laptop or Singers computers. This position focuses on learning how to create designs that are intended for specific target audiences. Great portfolio builder with a variety of different projects. Full academic year commitment.
Work in team environment with other project managers and PR students to plan, budget, promote, and facilitate multiple show events. Project manager will work closely with volunteers in local communities via remote conference calls to organize Wisconsin Singers show event promotions and ticket sales in order to raise money for the local partner’s program. PM’s must have strong communication skills, be able to motivate volunteers towards a common goal, have the ability to plan and facilitate event budgets, and manage detailed event logistics. Meets weekly with other project managers and PR as well as about 4 hours/week to work on individual shows assigned to them. Project Managers travel with the Singers to their assigned shows (about 4) to facilitate day-of-show logistics and interface with partners. Full academic year commitment. Great resume builder that evidences ability to plan, budget, and facilitate fundraising events.
Lighting tech must have experience in hanging and focusing lights for theatrical performances. Experience working with light boards preferred. The lighting design for the Wisconsin Singers show is basically already created for this upcoming year. The lighting tech’s responsibility is to learn the WS show in order to facilitate the created lighting design at all WS shows. The LT facilitates focus of lights on concert site, setup of moving lights, and runs light board for the shows. Ability to work independently, problem solve on your feet, and take pride in the intrinsic rewards of working backstage a must. Sunday rehearsals through November, fall and spring shows including spring break tour required. Opportunity to work in a variety of different theater environments working with a professional level touring ensemble.
