The Wisconsin State Journal is seeking a general assignment reporter to join its local news team. Under the direction of the city editor, this person will cover breaking news, government meetings and other news and features as needed. We’re looking for someone with demonstrated experience in watchdog reporting, facility with data and public records laws and an ability to develop sources and come up with enterprise stories no one else is reporting. This position also demands an ability to engage audiences via social media, report in real time for our online platforms and an aptitude or desire to shoot video. At least two years of daily newspaper reporting experience is preferred.
This position will require some evening and weekend shifts.
