State Representative Jonathan Brostoff is currently recruiting interns in both Milwaukee and Madison for Fall, 2019.
This internship will require a minimum of 12 hours per week. Office hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., but we can accommodate interns as early as 8:00 a.m. if needed. The internship can take place in either the State Capitol or by email if circumstances, such as living outside of the area, warrant it. Depending on where the internship will take place, tasks will differ slightly.
Representative Brostoff has a variety of goals but focuses his legislative efforts on Deaf and hard of hearing issues, disability advocacy, campaign finance reform, mental health support and services, criminal justice reform such as fair treatment of prisoners and the legalization of marijuana, and standing against corporate welfare. Having a team of bright and hard-working interns assists in his work on these topics and supports the overall productivity of the office.
Internships in Representative Brostoff’s office are mutually beneficial, bringing enthusiastic and dedicated individuals into the office to assist with daily work while providing valuable, first-hand office experience and resume building to the intern. Interns typically work on a variety of tasks including writing, minor research, meeting attendance, list compilation, handling phone calls, data entry, preparing mailings, constituent relations, press assistance, e-news work, website assistance, and more.
