Jiun-Yi Tsai is a postdoc at Arizona State University. She graduated in 2014 with a Ph.D. from the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Her research focuses on strategic risk and health communication. Specifically, she investigates (1) how people seek and share information about health and environmental risks, (2) the effects of communication messages on public perceptions of health and environmental issues, (3) media coverage of health and environmental issues such as global climate change. Before coming to Madison, she completed a M.A. degree in Mass Communication at University of Florida, specializing in public relations. After graduating from National Chengchi University in Taiwan, she worked in the marketing and public relations industry for two years.
