Nakho Kim

Nakho Kim received his Ph.D. from the School of Journalism and Mass Communication  in 2015. His primary research interest is participatory journalism, where civic communication is empowered through media technologies, and topics include how emergent media can strengthen the local media ecology to build a better integrated democratic community. To achieve that goal, he is interested in utilizing underused methodologies such as agent-based modeling of media environments. He also served as the technical manager of the community media project Madison Commons (
Besides his academic work, he is also an active journalistic writer writing on media topics for several Korean news outlets.
