Alicia Wright researches translation practices of Indian journalists writing and working between Hindi and English. Through ethnographic fieldwork in New Delhi, funded by the Fulbright Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Award, Alicia interviews journalists about their writing process and shadows them on assignments. She bridges questions of literary translation with issues in global journalism ethics to explore the degree to which journalists reflect on or alter meaning from source to target languages in multilingual writing. She worked as the coordinator for the Annual Conference on South Asia through the Center for South Asia and for the Arabic, Persian, Turkish Language Immersion Institute. Alicia received her B.A. in Comparative Literature and Mathematics from Hamilton College and her M.A. in Media Studies from Syracuse University.
