Amelia Rufer is a research M.A. student interested in the role of networked communications and news media in contentious politics. Her research addresses the sociological processes that influence public opinion formation in political networks. Prior to pursuing her graduate education, Amelia worked as a reporter for Homicide Watch and Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press in Washington, D.C. She also has experience in strategic communications and product development in the tech start-up industry. Amelia received her B.A. from the School of Journalism & Mass Communication at the University of Wisconsin.
