Xinyi (Cindy) is a second year research master’s student at the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. After learning social psychology, she found communication a dynamic line of research that integrates her passion for media and human behavior research. She is broadly interested in persuasion, social influence, and health communication, and she hopes to apply neuroscience techniques to better understand the mechanisms behind attitude and behavior change in these areas.
Xinyi received her B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication at UW, where she participated in multiple media and communication studies labs. Outside of research, she was a social media intern, magazine column writer, and was invited as one of the senior J-schoolers to work for Advertising Week 2017 in New York.
