KID smART is a vibrant arts education organization dedicated to fostering creativity and enhancing learning environments through the arts. Through a combination of high-quality, long-term artist residencies, professional development for classroom teachers, and after-school and community-based programming, KID smART works to empower all children to unlock their full academic, creative, and personal potential.

Summary
We are seeking a Communications Coordinator to join our team at KID smART. This role is key in managing social media & email campaigns and digital storytelling projects that connect with our audiences.

Responsibilities
Social Media & Content Creation
• Draft and schedule engaging content for social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn) aligning content with overall messaging across all platforms
• Generate ideas for social content/campaigns
• Write/edit social media copy
• Ideate and film “reels”
• Develop basic graphics and visual content using tools like Canva
Project Support & Media Coordination
• Assist with photography, video, and storytelling projects for KID smART programs
• Facilitate the collection of media assets, press contacts, and content with internal staff
• Participate in major organizational events/special projects as needed (e.g, ART JAM, Best Fest, etc)
Campaign Assessment & Proposals
• Pull campaign performance analytics across social media platforms
• Prepare reports of social media analytics
• Recommended strategic improvements based on engagement metrics
• Draft social media campaign outlines that integrate into initiatives’ multi-channel communications plans
• Present design ideas and content plans for review and approvalDevelop and implement communication strategies that align with KID smART’s mission.
• Write, edit, and proofread press releases, newsletters, and other promotional materials.
• Manage media relations by building relationships with journalists and securing coverage for events.
• Coordinate public speaking engagements and represent KID smART at various functions.
• Conduct research to identify new marketing opportunities and audiences.
• Assist in the planning and execution of marketing campaigns to promote programs.

Requirements
• 1-2 years in Marketing, Communications, Media/Design,or a related field
• Working knowledge of social media platforms, especially Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, and associated analytics tools
• Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and proofreading skills
• Experience using Canva, Mailchimp, and social media scheduling tools (e.g., Buffer, Later, Hootsuite), Squarespace, WordPress, or other CMS platforms
• Interest in or experience with arts education, youth development, or nonprofit communications
• Detailed, enthusiastic, and collaborative with strong time management skills
