Description
The Digital Media Coordinator and Videographer will play a vital role in capturing and sharing the story of our K3–12 independent school. The ideal candidate is a creative and collaborative professional with a passion for storytelling, advanced videography skills, and a strong understanding of digital media trends. This individual must have experience working with professional-grade DSLR or mirrorless cameras and video equipment and possess a robust portfolio demonstrating high-quality video production work. The role requires producing polished, engaging content that reflects the excellence of our school.
Key Responsibilities
Videography & Production
• Plan, shoot, and edit professional-quality video content for a variety of purposes, including school events, marketing campaigns, social media, and website use.
• Use advanced videography techniques and equipment (DSLR or mirrorless cameras, professional audio gear, lighting setups) to ensure polished and compelling content.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to develop video projects that capture the essence of school life, educational programs, and community events.
• Manage all aspects of video production, including pre-production planning, lighting, sound, shooting, and post-production editing using professional software.
Digital Media Management
• Maintain and update the school’s digital media platforms, including the website, social media channels, and video streaming services.
• Monitor digital media trends and analytics to optimize content performance and engagement.
• Create and implement a digital content calendar that aligns with the school’s communication and marketing strategies.
Podcast Production
• Edit and produce the school’s podcast, ensuring high-quality audio and engaging content.
• Collaborate with the Communications team and other departments to develop podcast topics and secure guest speakers.
• Manage the podcast’s distribution across various platforms and track performance analytics.
Photography
• Capture high-quality photographs to complement video content and provide visual assets for digital and print materials.
• Organize and maintain a digital archive of photos and videos for easy access and future use.
Collaborative Projects
• Work closely with the Director of Communications and strategic members of the enrollment, alumni, and fundraising teams to ensure consistency and alignment of messaging across all platforms.
• Assist with live-streaming and recording of major school events, such as graduation ceremonies, assemblies, and special presentations.
• Oversee the production and live streaming of “Cougar Live,” including home football games and select other home athletic events.
• Work closely with the Athletics Department to support their photography and video needs, including media days
• Assist in managing the Athletics Department’s social media
Tech & Support
• Manage and maintain video and photography equipment, ensuring all tools are up-to-date and in working condition.
• Troubleshoot technical issues during live streams and ensure a high-quality viewing experience for audiences.
Position Details & Work Environment
• This is a 10-month, full-time position beginning in August. The role includes some summer responsibilities, which are covered within the annual salary. The position is classified as exempt.
Key Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Digital Media, Communications, Film Production, or a related field.
Additional Skills/Abilities:
• Proven experience in videography, video editing, and digital media management, preferably in an educational or non-profit setting.
• Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) and graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator).
• Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practices.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Creative thinker with a keen eye for detail and a passion for storytelling.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:
• Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:45 PM, or flex time as evening, weekend, and summer projects require.
• The role requires mobility across campus and occasional travel to off-site locations for school-related events.
• Work takes place in both indoor and outdoor environments, sometimes in varying weather conditions.
