Description
For over 30 years, Cambridge Educational Services has partnered with schools to help all students achieve academic success and college readiness. We develop high-quality test prep materials, engaging curriculum, and professional development resources for educators across the country. Our mission-driven team has supported more than 10 million students and awarded over $10 million in grants to underserved youth.
The Opportunity:
Are you an expert with words and have a sharp eye for detail? We’re looking for part-time English proofreaders to review and polish our test preparation and educational materials. If you love language, grammar, and punctuation—and want flexible, project-based work you can do on your own schedule—this role is for you!
Our proofreading opportunities are ideal for students, graduates, teachers, and professionals looking for meaningful part-time work. We offer flexible hours—you’ll be able to review available projects and accept assignments that fit your schedule.
What You’ll Do:
• Proofread and edit educational documents, including test prep materials, student workbooks, and teacher guides
• Correct content errors, grammar, punctuation, mechanical errors, and typos
• Ensure language consistency and clarity across documents
• Work independently and meet project deadlines
• Communicate effectively with the publishing team regarding project updates and questions
What We’re Looking For:
• Strong command of grammar, punctuation, spelling, and style
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Strong reading comprehension and analytical skills
• Minimum of a 4-year undergraduate degree or current enrollment in a degree program (English, education, journalism, communications, or related field preferred, but all majors welcome)
• Prior proofreading, editing, tutoring, or writing experience is a plus
• Background in educational publishing or test prep is a plus
• High standardized test scores and GPA preferred if recently in school
Work Structure:
• Project-based assignments—you can accept or decline projects based on your availability
• Flexible schedule—work when you want
• Remote or hybrid opportunities
Compensation:
• Competitive hourly pay based on experience and quality of work
How to Apply:
Send your resume to hr@cambridgeed.com. Please mention your interest in the English Proofreader role, your availability, and any relevant proofreading or writing experience. If applicable, feel free to include any recent standardized test scores or GPA.
