Linqi Lu is a Ph.D. candidate and lecturer in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, with Ph.D. minors in Computer Science and Educational Psychology (Quantitative Methods). Her research is highly interdisciplinary, exploring the intersection of communication, artificial intelligence, and public health, with a particular emphasis on multimodal communication and health technology. She is an active member of several research groups, including SMAD, KEG, CAMER, HITS, and MCRC within the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, as well as ML+X, a machine learning community at UW-Madison.
Lu’s research has been featured in journals such as Journal of Health Communication, Health Communication, Preventive Medicine, Journal of Medical Internet Research, Health Education and Behavior, Media Psychology, Mass Communication and Society, Journal of Advertising Research, Journal of Behavioral Decision Making, and in the HICSS Conference proceedings, etc.
When she’s not immersed in research, Lu enjoys playing with her two adorable cats Lilo & Stitch, playing piano, scuba diving, fencing, hiking, and exploring culinary food recipes for friends.
