When it comes to your acceptance to the NBC Page Program, what are you most proud of?

I am most proud of finding something that I am extremely passionate about and pursuing it with determination throughout the recruitment process. The Page Program is an incredible opportunity that highlights my love for media and entertainment, and I am honored to be a part of such a prestigious program. The SJMC played a pivotal role in preparing me for this experience. Through amazing courses and the meaningful relationships, I created with my academic advisor and professors, I could not be luckier to have had the SJMC community to set me up for success.

What’s the best advice you have for an SJMC student who wants to do what you do?

Build authentic connections within the SJMC that make you memorable. I can confidently say that the best thing I ever did was make time to become close with my academic advisor and professors. Whether I was dropping by office hours to prep for an exam or just popping into my advisor’s office to say hello and chat, I consistently prioritized forming meaningful relationships. These connections not only enriched my experience at the SJMC but also helped me build an incredible support network that I continue to rely on today. Now, as someone newly navigating the entertainment industry, I have found that these interpersonal skills are imperative.

What is your favorite SJMC memory?

It is so hard to choose! If you know me, you know I was genuinely obsessed with every class and professor in the SJMC. If I had to pick, I would highlight my final J202 project with my lab! It was so fun collaborating with 15 of my peers on a real-world brand, and we all became so close so quickly. While J202 can feel intimidating at first, it was hands-down my favorite course. I encourage every student to fully embrace each assignment in lab; you will gain so much from this experience, both personally and professionally.
