Description
The Wisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association (WFAA)*, the private fundraising and alumni relations organization for the UW-Madison, is seeking an Alumni Relations and Engagement Program Intern! The Alumni Relations and Engagement Program Intern will assist with program and event planning, event preparation, event execution, and post event work supporting the programs lead by the Administrative Program Director. This role will be active in the support of WAA’s Alumni Awards program. Engagement Program Interns are ambassadors of WFAA and UW-Madison. In addition to office hours, these student hourly positions will staff key engagement programs.
Hourly rate: $16.00 Hourly Rate
Hours: 10-15 hours per week (with the option to increase hours in the summer)
Duration: Summer and throughout the 2025/2026 academic school year.
Essential Functions
Participate in team meetings and WFAA trainings
Assist with planning programs and initiatives to engage UW alumni and donors
• Conduct research and document and share findings
• Review and contribute to marketing review process
Perform administrative support for the Alumni Relations and Engagement division as needed
• Assist with Customer service
• Assist with database entry
• Support program team as needed
Help with event execution
• Assist with event and program preparation as needed (including name badges, packing materials, preparing event collateral, etc.)
• Staff registration tables
• Greet and assist event attendees
• Transport supplies and materials related to events
• Run event related errands
Support WFAA teams as needed
• Be knowledgeable about WFAA and university programs
• Lend general assistance and customer service across the Alumni Relations and Engagement Division when needed.
• Be an ambassador to the University of Wisconsin and the Wisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association.
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
• Currently enrolled in post-secondary degree program.
Other Qualifications
• Familiarity of the UW-Madison campus. Demonstrated experience in event planning and execution, data manipulation, research experience, retail or service industry are all helpful.
• High analytical skills, language, reasoning ability and problem solving.
• Ability to prioritize and work with a high degree of independence; ability to work well as part of a team; high degree of customer service skills; excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, including ability to express all appropriate information clearly and concisely, whether written or verbal; ability to manage several projects simultaneously,
• Familiarity with the UW-Madison campus.

• This is a very active position. During set up and execution, this position will be mostly on their feet with lots of walking and moving around. Candidates may need to be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
