Description

The Wisconsin Office of Rural Health is a small team working with a statewide and national audience to improve the access to, and quality of, healthcare in rural Wisconsin. We are looking for a storyteller who helps our office, small communities all over the state, and healthcare providers share their experiences, successes, and challenges. We are looking for a professional communicator who can support coworkers in their communications, find and generate new content, and comfortably use WordPress, social media, Google Analytics, and other online tools. Design skills are ideal, but not required. Our audience includes the public, healthcare leaders, legislators and other policy makers, and state and national partners. This is a hybrid position with a fairly flexible schedule.

Responsibilities:
Develops and drafts communication content and assists in the execution of the communications strategy in support of unit communication goals.
• 10% Monitors reach and effectiveness of communication campaigns, projects, and initiatives
• 20% Plans editorial content according to established goals and objects
• 10% Communicates with stakeholders to verify requests and identify editorial resources
• 40% Writes, edits, and publishes content for various communication projects and marketing platforms to align with strategic initiatives and established communication campaigns
• 20% Provides project management and execution of communications programs, initiatives, and tactical plans

Education:
Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree

Qualifications:
Required:
• Expertise with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Familiarity with image editing software such as Adobe Photoshop or similar
• Professional experience using WordPress for website and content management
• Excellent written communication
Preferred:
• Knowledge of how to use Google Analytics and other metrics features on communications apps to effectively measure and track engagement
• Professional experience managing content and engagement on social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X)
• Familiarity with Adobe Design Suite or similar to create graphics and/or documents
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build positive working relationships with stakeholders

License/Certification:
Preferred: Valid Driver’s License
1. Travel is required. Must provide a valid driver’s license. Employees may use their own transportation or receive approval for University Car Fleet usage. Employment is conditional pending the results of a Pre-hire Driver Authorization Check.

Work Type: Full or Part Time: 60% – 100%
This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.
