UNI Cares Project is a Las Vegas-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to feeding underserved communities, reducing homelessness, and supporting harm reduction and wellness through community-centered programs like the Love Food Network, Veterans Valor Project, and STAR Project. Our partnerships with local organizations, corporations, and volunteers are at the heart of our impact.
As we continue to grow our reach, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Community Relations Intern to help strengthen and expand our partnerships and community engagement efforts.
Position Summary:
The Community Relations Intern will support the development of strong and sustainable relationships with corporate sponsors, nonprofit partners, civic groups, and local agencies. This intern will help identify potential partners, assist with outreach and communications, and support community-focused initiatives and events. This is an excellent opportunity for someone pursuing a career in nonprofit management, communications, public affairs, or community development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Community Outreach & Engagement Support:
Assist with identifying and reaching out to new community partners, businesses, and local organizations whose missions align with UNI Cares Project.
• Partnership Development:
Help maintain a partner contact list, track follow-ups, and draft communications such as thank-you letters, meeting recaps, and event invitations.
• Event Coordination Assistance:
Support partner volunteer days and fundraising events through scheduling, email communications, and follow-up reporting.
• Story & Impact Gathering:
Assist in collecting and organizing impact stories, testimonials, and community feedback to share with stakeholders.
• Administrative Support:
Attend weekly check-ins with the Executive Director, maintain accurate records, and contribute to meeting preparation materials.
Ideal Candidate:
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management, Social Work, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized with great attention to detail.
• Friendly, professional, and committed to serving the community.
• Comfortable working independently and remotely.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams) and Google Workspace.
• Interest in learning about nonprofit operations, fundraising, and community partnerships.
