UHS offers award-winning, high quality medical, mental health, prevention, and wellness services to enrolled UW-Madison students.

This individual is expected to have a regular, weekly in-person schedule ranging from 10-15 hours per week.

Position Summary/Job Duties:
• Develop engaging messaging that promotes mental health services, builds trust, and reduces stigma.
• Monitor and analyze social media engagement to inform content strategy and improve performance.
• Serve as a UHS brand ambassador by participating in outreach events/tabling events, appearing in videos, and engaging with various audiences through UHS social media accounts.
• Assist with additional communications-related tasks as needed, such as writing newsletters, updating website content, or supporting outreach events.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to discuss and communicate sensitive health topics.
• Interest in social media and website management, copywriting, visual storytelling, and brand voice development.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and balance multiple projects effectively.
• Interest in mental health and/or higher education communication.
• Comfortable researching and interviewing subject matter experts on sensitive health topics.
• Ability to work collaboratively with UHS professional staff and student staff.

Qualifications:
• Though not required, the ideal candidate will continue in the position for a minimum of two semesters.
• Undergraduate student majoring in Communications, Public Health, or related.
