David is also on the Board of Trustees for the Institute for Public Relations, The Plank Center for Leadership in Public Relations, the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications Public Relations Department, and the Communication Leaders of Chicago.

David graduated Phi Beta Kappa, Suma Cum Laude from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1987. While at the UW, he was appointed to the Iron Shield Society, the Mortar Board National College Senior Honor Society, and also was named the Outstanding Junior and Outstanding Senior in the College of Letters & Science.
