This event will feature over 200 student equestrians from schools across Wisconsin, competing for their schools. We are seeking enthusiastic and organized undergraduates to join our team as Project Management Coordinator Interns. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in project management for a large-scale event. This role requires self-starters who are responsible, reliable, able to work independently, stay on task, and meet deadlines.
Responsibilities:
Preparation and Planning:
• Coordinate with WIHA Board members and event organizers to understand the schedule and requirements.
• Develop a detailed project plan, including timelines, tasks, and resource allocation.
• Participate in virtual meetings starting in late August to plan and prepare for the event (approximately 5-10 hours per week).
• Work closely with WIHA Board members and attend meetings focused on state competition planning.
Event Coordination:
• Oversee the execution of the project plan during the event, ensuring all tasks are completed on time.
• Coordinate with different teams (e.g., live streaming, audio, logistics) to ensure smooth operations.
• Monitor progress and adjust as needed to keep the project on track.
Communication:
• Keep WIHA Board members up to date with progress, needs, and information to best plan the project.
• Serve as the main point of contact for any project-related inquiries during the event.
Post-Event:
• Provide a summary report of the project management performance and any recommendations for future events.
Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled in a college/university program, preferably in Project Management, Business Administration, Event Management, or a related field.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Comfortable working around horses and in an equestrian environment.
• Flexibility to work during the event dates and adapt to changing schedules.
Benefits:
• Gain practical experience in project management for a large-scale event.
• Network with professionals in the field.
• Receive a certificate of completion and a letter of recommendation upon successful completion of the internship.
• Opportunity to contribute to a high-profile state competition and enhance your resume.
• Experience working with a nonprofit organization.
• Enjoy the rewarding experience of working around kids and horses.
• Develop valuable skills in a supportive and dynamic environment.
