SJMC Faculty and Grad Students Presenting at 2023 ICA Conference

ICA Conference – Reclaiming Authenticity in Communication print program

J-School graduate students and faculty are presenting their research this week at the International Communication Association’s 73rd annual conference. The hybrid event, titled “Reclaiming Authenticity in Communication,” is May 25–29 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and includes presentations, panels and poster sessions covering a wide range of topics.

Additionally, recent J-School Ph.D. graduate, Matt Minich was awarded the top student paper from ICA’s Children, Adolescents and Media Division for his paper, “Real-world adolescent smartphone use is associated with improvements in mood: An ecological momentary assessment study.” Matt will present this research during the conference on Friday during the “Adolescents’ Media Use, Mood, and Life Satisfaction” session at 3 p.m.
