SJMC Students Caitlin Cieslik-Miskimen and Jeff Tischauser Awarded Mellon-Wisconsin Summer Fellowships

Ph.D. candidates Caitlin Cieslik-Miskimen and Jeff Tischauser were each awarded the Mellon-Wisconsin Summer Fellowship for summer 2018. The Mellon-Wisconsin competition is administered by the Graduate School and supports dissertators in the College of Letters and Science conducting research in the humanities or humanistic social sciences.

Cieslik-Miskimen’s dissertation examines the historic role print culture played in shaping community identity in the early 20th century, and her research interests include topics related to mass culture, sports communication, education, and memory. To read her full bio, click here.

Tischauser’s research investigates the relationship between white racial identity, white supremacy, and alternative media, as well as how to use alternative media to challenge systems of oppression. To read Tischauser’s full bio, click here.
