KSNB Weekday Evening Meteorologist
If you’re looking for a weather challenge, KSNB-TV, the NBC affiliate serving Lincoln/Hastings/Grand Island, is looking for a meteorologist to cover one of the most dynamic weather regions in the country. We have blizzards, tornadoes, floods, extreme cold and extreme heat. If you get excited by this, we have the job for you.
DUTIES:
You will be based at KSNB’s studios in Hastings, Nebraska. You’ll cover weather in our key evening newscasts. We’re also looking for an engaging social media presence with compelling visuals and hyper-local focus on our Hastings/Grand Island/Kearney audience in Central Nebraska. Tell us the “weather story of the day” in a way that matches the dynamic nature of our weather. We have modern tools and the Local4 StormChaser to help you tell that story.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Qualifications:
o 2 years of professional newsroom and on-air experience preferred
o An engaging and comfortable on-air personality
o Ability to use judgment to prioritize tasks and assignments
o Ability to communicate effectively with newsroom managers, producers and co-workers
o Ability to report and to forecast weather accurately and creatively under deadline pressure. Severe Weather coverage experience is a plus along with knowledge of newscast production.
